A Message to Our Family

✦ ✦ ✦

Welcome to the Malone/Burton Family Reunion 2026

"A Call to Return Home"

Dear Malone and Burton Family,

As tri-racial descendants of Free People of Color, Anglo Kin/Slaves, and the Original Freedom Colonists of East Central Texas, we carry a heritage unlike any other — forged in courage, survival, and an unbreakable will to remain free and sovereign.  Hear the call of our ancestors to return home, back to the very soil where our ethnogenesis first began, where three peoples became one family, and where the Malone/Burton name took its roots and refused to be erased.

With love and anticipation,
The Malone/Burton Family Reunion Committee

Our Family Flag

Coat of Arms Explained

Our Family Coat of Arms is unique and proprietary, specifically designed for Malone/Burton descendants, by blood and by marriage. May it serve as a reminder, that you are never alone. Behind the shield stands an unseen legion of family and ancestry — walking with you on your journey. From every challenge to every triumph, it is worn to lift and support you, as well as identify your tribe. The shield is a reminder of GOD'S LOVE and symbolizes the protection and resilience you've inherited by virtue of your name. It is a quiet but powerful truth: YOU BELONG and that you are an important part of something much larger than yourself.

The Real Power It Carries

Emotional Anchor

On difficult days, it grounds you. A quick glance or the feel of it on your lapel reconnects you to the resilience of those who endured far harder times — and still passed life forward.

Moral Compass

It calls you to higher standards. You represent more than just yourself — you carry the honor of the name and the expectations of every ancestor who hoped their descendants would live with integrity.

Source of Courage

Knowing your family stands behind you — literally and figuratively — gives you boldness to face uncertainty, speak truth, and pursue meaningful goals.

Bridge Across Time

It links past, present, and future. When others notice the pin and ask about it, the story of our family comes alive. Heritage is kept breathing in those moments.

Symbolism & Meaning

Our Colors: Heritage Teal Blue & Golden Ochre

Golden Ochre is the color of God's Sun. It is symbolic for creation — associated with the Sacral Chakra, creativity, vitality, and transformation. Heritage Teal Blue carries high frequencies of calm, spirituality, and communication, connected to deeper wisdom, peace, truth, and healing.

The Knight

Beyond battle, knights acted as law enforcement and administrators — maintaining order and defending the weak. The Knight represents THE MASCULINE PROTECTORS of the Malone family's history and heritage.

The Machete

Originally an agricultural tool, the machete became a symbol of resilience in historical conflicts across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa. In African & Indigenous cosmologies, the machete is not merely a tool for labor; it's a profound spiritual symbol of creation, elemental power and resistance.

The Crossbow

A hidden reminder — The original bow and arrow was created by melanated Indigenous people. The crossbow reminds us that we ARE the original architects of sophisticated bows and arrows for hunting and warfare, adapted to local environments long before European contact.

The Feathers

This single feather honors the shared values of excellence and spirit across all three bloodlines. African: ancestors revered feathers (particularly ostrich) as emblems of power, strength, truth, justice, and royal prestige. Indigenous: ancestors viewed feathers as sacred gifts from the Creator — symbols of honor, wisdom, courage, freedom, and spiritual connection. Anglo: aristocracy saw feathers (especially ostrich plumes) as marks of nobility, bravery, and worldly distinction.

The United Handshake — Mestizaje

A reminder that our heritage is united by many colors. We are The Original Texas Mestizos. Mestizaje is found across the world — African, Latin American, Filipino — Brown People united. Our unity across many colors is our greatest strength.

The Holy Cross

Notice the cross is not centered inside a Spanish or British Crown as in most coats of arms. The European influence of our crest is the Knight — not the Catholic Church nor Protestant Monarchy. Our ancestors knew the cross as a symbol of fire, positive energy, and creation. The Sun's halo resting behind the Christian Cross corresponds with our connection to Jesus Christ. While our family may worship in many denominations, it is a known fact, we all accept the divinity of Christ.

First-time Zelle senders — please read carefully. Zelle takes cybersecurity seriously. Before you hit send, double-check and triple-check the email address — one wrong character can send your payment to the wrong person.

Every bank handles Zelle security differently. Here is what you may encounter:

  • Your bank may ask a security confirmation question — please answer "YES" to proceed.
  • Some banks may send a two-factor authentication (2FA) code to your phone — enter it when prompted.
  • Some banks may require a phone call to verify the transaction before it goes through.

These are standard bank cybersecurity protocols designed to protect you and ensure your payment reaches the right account safely. Do not be alarmed — simply follow your bank's prompts.

Do NOT send payment via Henry's personal cell phone number. Payments must be sent using his email address only[email protected]

If you have Henry's cell phone and payment email saved in your contacts, please temporarily delete the phone number from your contacts, then send the payment using the email address provided below only (not his phone number).
